Our first reporting year

Our annual report describes community work in Momo and Mezam Divisions during July 2021–June 2022. Members from different professional backgrounds volunteered their expertise. The report explains our approach through consultation, community participation and work with other organisations.

Education, rights and care

On 18 November 2021, we worked with teachers and administrators in the North West Region on inclusive practices. We participated in the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2021. Our accounts also describe home visits, discussions with parents, help accessing hospital consultations and support with documentation for disability-card applications.

Learning and practical support

Our members attended training on child protection and related humanitarian responsibilities. We also recorded livelihood training and inputs for two participants, alongside support with assistive equipment and school needs. At our first annual general meeting on 30 June 2022, we reviewed achievements, difficulties and the work ahead. Later entries in the supplied document extend beyond the stated reporting year.

How the work was organised

The report describes consultation and networking as the main methods of working. Members brought different professional and educational experience. Schools, community groups, religious bodies and public services were approached as possible partners. This was intended to connect practical support with a wider understanding of inclusion.

During a general meeting on 6 February 2022, members evaluated the year’s activities and examined a draft plan for January–June. The account mentions a twin-track approach to identifying and monitoring needs. A partnership form was prepared, office equipment was purchased and records were organised to support follow-up. These administrative steps formed part of building the association’s capacity.

Learning, referrals and household contact

The annual account records work with teachers and school administrators on inclusive practices on 18 November 2021. Members also attended training on protection in emergencies and a separate session on mainstreaming child protection on 23 February 2022. These learning opportunities were part of preparing members to work with families and communities.

Home visits combined listening, encouragement and discussion with parents. The report records support towards hospital consultation and the preparation of documents for disability-card applications. Two people received training connected with fishing and gardening, with inputs to start their activities. These are recorded interventions. The source does not provide comparable accounts of their later sales, costs or income.

The first AGM and the reporting boundary

The first annual general meeting took place on 30 June 2022. Members reviewed achievements, difficulties and the work ahead in the presence of stakeholders and people supported by the organisation. Assistive equipment and school items obtained with IRC support, alongside other items bought by CVID-Cam, were distributed at the gathering.

The document then includes an outreach visit to a Tinechung development gathering on 3 July 2022 and later training references. Those entries extend beyond the July 2021–June 2022 year printed on the title. They are preserved as later notes, rather than silently counted within that year. The next annual report covers July 2022–June 2023.
