Listening to families and schools
We visited families and discussed education and everyday support. We introduced our work on inclusive practices to Mermah and Frankdel schools. The record also describes contact with CBC Health Services and the Norwegian Refugee Council. Proposed school arrangements still required discussions and agreement with the families.
Preparing an apprenticeship
At the end of September, we helped discuss a vocational placement with a family, a trainer and a community rehabilitation contact. The planned start was in October. We also discussed inclusive practices with those involved. This record confirms preparation for the placement; a later record is needed to describe attendance, completion or subsequent work.
School and apprenticeship arrangements
The organisation discussed school options with families and partner staff. Some arrangements still required a family decision. Mermah and Frankdel schools were visited to introduce inclusive practices and explore future collaboration. The visits established contacts rather than completed training programmes.
A CBC Health Services delegation evaluated Community Based Rehabilitation interns and discussed trade-learning referrals. On 30 September, a family, a community rehabilitation officer and the coordinator agreed a nail-care apprenticeship. The discussion included the trainer and other apprentices so that inclusion was part of the placement. The expected start was in early October; the September record documents preparation.
Family contact and civil documents
Home visits included encouragement around schooling and daily activities, as well as a condolence visit to a bereaved family. These visits helped the organisation remain in contact with the people it accompanied. Personal health histories and identifying household details are held in the private source.
Contact was made with NRC about birth certificates and identity documents, and collection of supporting papers continued. This work prepared applications. The later October and November reports describe submission and training related to documentation, which remain separate steps from eventual issue of a certificate.
